Costs that will instantly be given to you include:

Firstly you have the US transport from the seller to the port, you then have US customs fees and loading fees, after the car is on a ship the costs include:

1) Shipping - we advise only shipping via container
2) Marine Insurance - usually around 2% of vehicles value
3) Unloading and UK customs clearance + import duties - roughly:
i) for cars you will need to pay 10% duty and then 17.5% VAT
ii) for trucks you will pay 22% duty and then 17.5% VAT
iii) EU cars are £50 duty and then 17.5% VAT
iv) cars over 50 years old are just 5% VAT

4) UK transport costs (insurance is dubious on unregistered cars so best on trasnporter)
5) If car is less than ten years old it will need an SVA test and appropriate SVA mods to pass the test
6) MOT test
7) DVLA registration and road tax
