Organize a Car Wash Fundraiser

Check with your local department of water conservation and city hall if a permit is needed for holding a car wash fundraiser. Find out any rules that apply to the car wash fundraiser and make sure everyone in your group is aware of them.

Set a date, time and location of the car wash fundraiser to be held. Apply for the permit as soon as you have picked the date.

Start getting the flyers ready to distribute to friends, family, neighbors, church members and other approved places.

Advertise by word of mouth as well. The more you can get the word out, the more patrons you will get.

Make some coupons or tickets to sell to friends, neighbors and church members as well. This way you know you will have some people committed to coming.

Make a few posters and signs to put out on the street to direct passing vehicles to stop by for your fundraiser car wash.

Purchase all the necessary items needed for use in a car wash such as car shampoo, hoses, sponges, rags, buckets, brushes and trash bags. Make sure the detergent used is non toxic and biodegradable.

Get enough volunteers to help and to rotate their shifts to give each volunteer a break when needed.

Buy some donuts and drinks to feed the volunteers.

Get there early on that day to set everything up and be ready to work hard, have fun and earn some money.
