2000 Toyota Celica GTS Check Light

Edit By:Care Cars
Q:My check engine light recently came on in my Celica, I took it to AutoZone, they ran that lil' test on it.. said I'm running too rich. I figured it was b/c I was running Premium Gas in it (sticker inside lid said to).. So I downgraded it to Plus after the guy deleted that alert. A few tanks of Plus later, my light is back on.. I plan on taking it back in to get tested again. Any other thoughts of how my Celica could be running "too rich"?
A:Well, the code would be nice. Write down what the number was and post it here. That will help lead you in the right direction.
A:Believe or or not I started up my Celica.. and the Check Engine light is now off? I didn't do a single thing to it.. and it was parked from that post until now. Hmmmmm
A:Probably just some electrical stuff. If the car isnt running weird or anything then I wouldnt worry about it.
A:And that type of response right there is why you have been tagged a moron since joining this forum.
A:The fact that the MIL has extinguished doesn't mean the problem fixed itself and has gone away. Depending on the type of DTC, the light may go off after one, two or several drive cycles. Still, if it came on you'll have DTC's stored and need to find out what they are.
