Customize A Ride...

Edit By:Care Cars
To upgrade the performance you have to put in some major wrench time, or have a SKILLED mechanic work on this to get all tweaks and bugs out of the system. The upgrades for performance are almost limitless. There is so much than can upgrade,
You can start with a new engine, which will increase to a higher horsepower. There are parts you can upgrade the engine with, a turbo which also increases the horsepower but only with a burst of power, modified headers which will cut down on engine temperature and bring a little shine to the new engine (*extra not needed*). A new Transmission will help with a stronger acceleration ratio. The gearbox is the most important aspect. An ECU chip (tiny PC) will help with performance all around. It maintains fuel management, and helps with timing and changes within your engine. An exhaust system to control heat output and create a unique sound (louder or soft). Depends on the car. Suspension is another good addition that will greatly help you with driving, if you can tune your car right it will be like driving a cloud. Close to the corners, and low on the road. And last but far from least a nitrous oxide purge system. Commonly known as “NOS”. Formula N2O. Which can be mounted in the trunk.
All of the above will increase the performance of any car…almost any car.

To upgrade visual, well lets start with exterior. If you want to upgrade the exterior you have to start with either paint or body. Lets start with a body kit, for a body kit you need to choose one with function as well as style. Get one that will help direct air to your advantage. Then after you have selected the proper body kit select the paint. Now paint is something everyone has a different opinion on. In a crowd of 100 people there will be at least one that says they don’t like it, that life. But choose what you like, but it’s always good to show off what you got so…roll with it. After you got your body kit and paint lets work on the optional spoiler and exterior features. Spoilers are a prime function for directing air over the trunk or back draft of a vehicle so they can slice through the air faster. Physics. But like I said if you’re looking for a spoiler think of your car and the angle of the spoiler. As far as other accessories, which consist of neon’s & exhaust tips. Neon’s are another optional feature that applies too most but not all.

Interior upgrades can consist of changing the stock gauges within the glass behind the steering wheel to custom gauges. Different colors or neon gauges. Some additional gauges for Nitrous, turbo, temperature, & oil would be a nice addition. Seating to me is VERY important, if you don’t good comfortable seating there’s no point in driving. The perfect seating for a good modified car would be bucket-racing seats with the 5-way seat belts. Or you can stay with stock totally up to you. But DO NOT REMOVE SEAT BELTS!!! NEVER! Other additions would be taking out the backseat (if applicable) to lighten the weight of your car. On that note if you DO NOT want to install your Nitrous in you trunk I would advise the safer in where you backseat used to be. It’s a P.E.R.F.E.C.T. spot to put it or them if you’re using two or more tanks. Steering wheels are another customizable feature that a lot of people use. Some use striped wheels (NOTHING on them AKA old Charger or GTO steering wheel), others however use customized wheels that have NOS buttons on them, some even still have the air bag. It’s up to you how you customize your vehicle. Also about the NOS buttons, if you have other switches (Hydraulics, neon’s, or anything else) you can incorporate them however you want, dashboard, center console, or get creative and hide them like, under the seat, or hidden console.

Stereo system gets it own section because it’s a fundamental part of customizing a vehicle. You need to have a strong sound system to look impressive you can have the best looking car but if doesn’t have the right sound it’s not worth the time to look. The best is an in trunk Fiberglass box with multiple kickers & good-looking AMP. To make all that system & interior pop you can in addition add neon’s on the inside of your car, back window & floor boards are good stations. In the trunk you can out line you box or if it’s clear seal them with in it to give it some flare.
