Tips And Advices - Install a Mini Disc Receiver in Your Car

Edit By:Care Cars
Determine the DIN size of your current head unit. Use a ruler or measuring tape to determine if your current stereo is single or double DIN.

Consult the owner’s manual of the mini disc receiver to confirm that it will fit in the space occupied by your old stereo. A double din receiver will not fit in a single din slot.

Consult your car owner’s manual for instructions on how to remove the old stereo. If you cannot locate this information, you may be able to find such instructions online.

Remove the fascia and trim that cover the face of your old receiver. This will allow you access to the mounting hardware and brackets that secure your old stereo.

Carefully remove the old receiver head unit and the wiring harness. Check to see if the old receiver’s brackets will fit your new receiver.

Install the new mounting brackets if you need to. Connect the car’s audio wiring harness to your new mini disc receiver.

Install the new mini disc receiver head unit into the mounting brackets. Replace the car’s trim and fascia to complete the installation of your new receiver.
